These last few weeks have been very frustrating for me. Everything had been going so well. Allen and I had made some tough, but great decisions. The future was looking bright, we were both happy with what we had planned for our future. Those desisions had been made so prayfully I thought that there would be no problems. And then suddenly out of the blue, it all changed. I felt as if the lord had taken away my dreams of security and thrown them out the window. I was not sure what we had done wrong. I was angry, sad and confused.
After much prayer and talking with my husband and other loved ones. I realised that the Lord had not taken anything away. I had mistaken what the Lord had given me in the first place. As much as the Lord loves us, not every moment of our lives it going to be filled with warm and fuzy moments. Everyday the lord presents us with oppurtunites. Oppurtunites to be blessed and oppurunites to grow and learn. I now realise that there is sometihng to be learned from every experience, good or bad that we must endure. How much we are blessed and how much we grow from that experience depends on how we react to it. When life is hard you can either be bitter and turn your back on the Lord for treating you harshly. Or you can go to him for help and guidence to be able to see the lesson in your life.
Dad told me a great quote yesterday from president Hinkley and I want to share that with all of you.
" Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow upto be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey.. delays side tracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
So that is my new montra for when life seems to hard..... Life is not Bliss.....
